Qualcomm and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation recognized outstanding math and science programs that prepare high school students for careers in Electronics, Biotech, Software, and Telecommunications. Over $20,000 of cash awards were given to outstanding North County teachers.

Fall 1998:

Judges from the business community were so impressed with the quality of math and science programs that Qualcomm has offered to endorse regional competitions and sponsor a San Diego county-wide competition. Sony already has offered to provide $5,000 for the North County regional winner!
